Learn to Love the Questions

I'm not sure what it is about New York, but we always end up near the water. We set out to feed ducks, got sidetracked at the photography store where I bought a new (awesome!) lens for my camera, and ended up wandering by the creek in the park. It's a chilly day for the end of June.

Yesterday an email from one of my professors reminded me to try to enjoy the uncertainty of things and, as Rilke says, to learn to love the questions. The Rilke quote is an important reminder:
Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.

When I saw the title of the post I thought of Rilke! One of my favorite quotes, ever. Thanks for the reminder! (and enjoy the new lens!)
