My Due Date

I made it to my due date. Time to get busy trying to get this kid out of me. :)

Wrote the baby a letter. Had to hold back a lot of happy tears.

Busy day of cleaning, errands, walking, napping.
We saw (and loved!) Sunshine Cleaning,
then sat in the backyard and grilled sausage on our new grill.

Lazy, lazy, lazy. Took two naps before 2 o'clock and no plans for the rest of the day.

Bless This Mess

I normally reserve these shots for my pregnancy blog, but here I am today: 39 weeks, 2 days pregnant. It's now a waiting game, trying to find a balance between getting things done and relaxing, not knowing when this little person might show up. I don't have much attention to devote to the computer, but will update when I can, especially with good news!

Happy weekend (early)!

Spent most of the day writing.
It was nice to get outside for a bit.

We're enjoying these last few days of just us.

Adjusting

Today, the weather is wonderful and clothes are hanging on the clothesline. I find having hanging clothes outdoors so liberating -- like I'm no longer a slave to the dryer, just the sunshine. We went to the grocery store this morning, and I realized that it's a realistic possibility that we might not make it to the grocery store next week, if the baby shows up before then. It's a surreal feeling.

The past few days, I've sequestered myself away from the computer. After sitting in front of one forty hours a week for the last umpteen weeks, it's liberating not to have to flip it on in the morning and constantly check to see what's going on in the virtual world. But, now that my camera is back in action, I will return to taking and posting my daily photographs, and find the balance between domestic life and technology.

And happy Easter to everyone. He is risen, indeed!

Clean sheets on the line makes it feel like summer.
I imagined a fire ant bit my toe, but it was nothing.

Right Now

I am sitting at my desk drinking coffee, thankful that it's my last day before my maternity leave. After today, I don't have to set my alarm or drive through midtown traffic in the morning or listen to coworkers beat the malfunctioning copier into submission. I don't have to sign a time sheet or do my hair or wait until lunch to see my husband.

At this time tomorrow, I will be at home in my jammies, drinking coffee and chatting with Adam, thankful that I have nowhere to go.

Checking In

It's been quiet in this space. I feel a bit disconnected since the camera incident -- a problem with the battery shorting out, which we should be able to remedy this week. I hate to sound pitiful, but I miss taking a photo a day. I miss posting here and on Flickr, and seeing the day to day progression of my year. But I will be back -- and soon!

I got our maternity portraits today and uploaded them to Flickr, so take a peek. Though, be warned -- there are naked belly pics!
